Lonnie BlanchetteThe Automotive Technology Program is proud to name Lonnie Blanchette as their outstanding vocational student. Lonnie is the son of Lonnie and Rosemary Blanchette of Westport, Massachusetts and a graduate of Espirito Santo School.
Lonnie has achieved high honors throughout his tenure at Diman. For the past 13 years, he has bowled, maintaining an average of 191 and bowling a personal best of 298 in 2010. He has also been Drag Racing since the age of nine, earning numerous, prestigious awards including; Track Champion in Junior Intermediate Points, Track Champion in Junior Major Points, Junior Dragster Challenge Winner as well as Track Champion in High School Division. He has held a NHRA Junior Dragster Master’s License and an IHRA Junior Dragster Advanced License.
Lonnie competed in SkillsUSA in his junior and senior year, winning a gold medal in the Automotive Service Technology Competition at the 2012 District level. SkillsUSA also honored him with a $5,000 scholarship to Ohio Technical College and Lincoln Technical College. Lonnie was a member of the Photography Club and won second place in Trade Fair during his junior year. Lonnie is currently employed at Roger’s Automotive in Westport, Massachusetts as an Automotive Technician as part of Diman’s Cooperative Education Program. He will continue his education at Ohio Technical College where he will major in High Performance and Racing.
