Corey MatosCorey Matos is the recipient of the Drafting Department’s Outstanding Vocational Student Award. He is the son of Francisco and Vanessa Matos of Fall River, Massachusetts.
Corey came to Diman from Morton Middle School and is currently ranked fifth in his class with a 4.06 GPA. Corey has achieved high honor roll status throughout his tenure at Diman as well as achieving academic excellence in math throughout his first three years. He is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and is a recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. Corey is a member of the Key Club and Spotlight, where he obtained the position of President in his sophomore year. In his junior year, he competed in the SkillsUSA District Competition where he won a bronze medal. Corey also won third place in Trade Fair during his freshman and sophomore year at Diman. Additionally, Corey has been involved in community service, volunteering as a waiter and a drummer at Banda Senhor Conceicao Mosteirense and as a kitchen aid at Notre Dame Parish. Corey is currently employed by Diman’s Cooperative Education Program at Orion R.E.D. in Smithfield, RI as a Draftsperson.
