Natasha GarciaThe Health Assisting program is pleased to name Natasha Garcia as their 2012 outstanding vocational student. Natasha is the daughter of Carlos and Patricia Garcia of Fall River, Massachusetts and a graduate of Holy Trinity School.
She is ranked second in her class with a GPA of 4.3 and has been recognized as Diman’s Outstanding Vocational Student at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts. Natasha has achieved high honors throughout her tenure at Diman and is a two-year member of the National Honor Society. She is a recipient of the John and Abigail Adam’s Scholarship. Natasha has received numerous first place awards including the Outstanding Shop Project for Trade Fair. She was a member of the Basketball Team, Student Government, Key Club, Junior Class Committee, Tech Prep, Senior Committee, Spotlight, and the Photography Club. Natasha has been an active member of SkillsUSA, holding her position as Vice President of Diman’s chapter, winning three gold medals at the district competition, one gold and one silver medal at the state competition, and a gold medal at the national competition. She has also been a part of the School Improvement Committee, Advisory Board, and serves as the Student Representative of the School Committee. Natasha has spent a significant amount of hours volunteering at St. Anne’s food pantry. She is employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education program at Southpointe Rehabilitation Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant and interns at Charlton Memorial Hospital as a Health Unit Coordinator. Natasha will further her education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to pursue a career in Nursing in hopes of becoming a Pediatric Oncologist Physician’s Assistant.
