Diman's top 10 Class of 2012 graduates

Kristina Sann
Kristina Sann, the daughter of Steven Sann of Fall River, is a graduate of the Health Assisting Program at Diman Regional. She has been a High Honors student all four years at Diman and has been named the Most Outstanding Student for three consecutive years. She was employed at People Incorporated Young Parents’ Learning Center as a Teacher’s Aide. Kristina will attend the Salter School for Medical Assisting in the fall. She will also be working toward completing the required pre-requisites to be accepted into the Radiologic Technology program at Massasoit Community College.

Natasha Garcia
Natasha Garcia, a student in the Health Assisting Program, is the daughter of Carlos and Patricia Garcia of Fall River. She is ranked second in her class and was recently recognized as Diman’s Outstanding Vocational Student at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. She has been involved in numerous school activities including the basketball team, Student Government, Key Club, Junior Class Committee, Senior Committee, Spotlight, Photography Club and the School Improvement Council and as the student representative to the School Committee. Natasha has been an active member of SkillsUSA, winning a first place gold medal at the 2011 national competition in Kansas City, Missouri. Natasha is employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education program at Southpointe Rehabilitation Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant and interns at Charlton Memorial Hospital as a Health Unit Coordinator. Natasha will further her education at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to pursue a career in Nursing in hopes of becoming a Pediatric Oncologist Physician’s Assistant.

Mason Machado
Mason Machado, a graduate of the Electricity Program at Diman, is the son of Raymond and Nicole Machado of Westport. He has been a High Honors student all four years at Diman and achieved first at each Trade’s Fair from freshman to junior year. Mason is a two year member of the National Honor Society and the SkillsUSA organization, achieving a gold medal at last year’s district competition. He was also part of the Electricity Advisory Board and played for the varsity golf team for three years. Mason is currently employed by Munro Distributing in Fall River and will attend Wentworth Institute of Technology in the fall to major in Electrical Engineering.


Lucas Ferreira
Lucas Ferreira, a student in the Electronics Technology Program, is the son of Eduardo and Karla Ferreira of Fall River. Lucas has earned high honors throughout his educational career, ranking him third in his graduating class. He is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and has received the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. Lucas is a member of Project Spotlight, the Photography Club, and serves as a team leader of the Robotics Club. He has been an active member of SkillsUSA placing in the top twenty at the national competition. He plans to continue his education to pursue a career in Electrical Engineering.


Corey Matos
Corey Matos, a student in the Drafting Program, is the son of Francisco and Vanessa Matos of Fall River. Corey is currently ranked fifth in his class. He is a two-year member of the National Honor Society and is a recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. Corey is a member of the Key Club and Spotlight, where he obtained the position of president in his sophomore year. Corey has been involved in community service, volunteering as a waiter and a drummer, and as a kitchen aide at Notre Dame Parish. Corey is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education program at Orion R.E.D. in Smithfield, RI as a Draftsperson.


Joshua Lessard
Joshua Lessard is a student in the Electronics Technology Program at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. A Westport resident, he is the son of Jennifer and David Lessard, who both own and run Bayside Automotive on Bay Street in Fall River. He is currently ranked seventh in his graduating class.  He has been active in the SkillsUSA program competing in the electronics district competition. He is a member of the Robotics Club and attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security in Washington D.C., where he learned about national defense and security strategies, as well as the roles of the different branches of the military. He was a member in the after school Spanish program. Joshua will be attending University of Massachusetts Dartmouth majoring in the Electrical Engineering program.


McKayla Oliveira
McKayla Oliveira, the daughter of Rose & Michael Oliveira of Fall River is a graduate of the Health Assisting Program at Diman Regional. McKayla has achieved High Honors all four years at Diman while being the Vice President of National Honor Society and Student Government her senior year. McKayla has been an active member of School Improvement Council, Shop Advisory Board, SkillsUSA (Opening & Closing Ceremonies Team), Spotlight Program, Photography Club, and Key Club, for most of her high school career. McKayla also gave back to her community by volunteering at countless school events and Saturday morning at St. Anne’s food pantry. McKayla participated in Diman’s Cooperative Education program with a CNA position at Highland Manor and is also employed at Kimwell Nursing & Rehab Center in a CNA position. McKayla will be majoring in Nursing in the fall at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing


Morgan Costa
Morgan Costa, a student in the Office Technology Program, is the daughter of Tony and Diane Costa of Westport. She has participated in numerous extra-curricular activities including being a two-year member of the of the National Honor Society. Morgan has also been an active member of SkillsUSA winning gold medals at the state competition in 2011 and 2012 for the Chapter Business Procedures competition. She is currently employed at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School as an Office Assistant through Diman’s Cooperative Education Program. She has been accepted into the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where she will be studying Nursing.


Justin DaRosa
Justin DaRosa is a student in the Electricity Program at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School. He is the son of Charles and Cynthia DaRosa of Swansea, Massachusetts. He is ranked seventh in his graduating class and has earned High Honors throughout his four years at Diman. He has been awarded the John and Abigail Adam’s Scholarship due to his advanced test scores on the MCAS. Justin is an active member of Diman’s chapter of the National Honor Society. He is currently involved in Diman’s Cooperative Education program employed as an Electrician’s Apprentice at CPS Technologies in Norton, Massachusetts. Justin works with a Master Electrician installing new wiring systems at the Norton and Attleboro facilities. Justin enjoys volunteering at his church and parish functions and has volunteered at Crossroads in Providence, Rhode Island handing out food to the homeless and those in need. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends, along with working on classic cars. Justin will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and will continue working part time in the electrical field.


Austin Langlois
Austin Langlois, a student in the Electricity Program, is the son of Michael and Sandra Langlois of Westport. He is currently ranked tenth in his graduating class and is a two-year member of the National Honor Society. Austin has maintained high honors throughout his tenure at Diman and is a recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. Austin has been a part of the football team, basketball team, as well as the track team where he was honored with the Sportsmanship Award. Austin is currently employed through Diman’s Cooperative Education program, working as an Apprentice Electrician at Beaupre Electric. He will be attending the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in the fall to major in Criminal Justice.
